Here at IMD, we believe in the power of performance! When children are empowered to get on stage and shine their light, they are challenged in a positive way! As they prepare for each performance, they set new goals, learn fresh skills, and build confidence along the way. This process helps foster a strong work ethic while developing essential life skills like:
✨ Confidence & Self-Esteem
✨ Focus & Dedication
✨ Social Skills & Teamwork
✨ Resilience & Emotional Growth
This is why we decided to add a new branch of our recreational program - The Performance Team! This is a great avenue for dancers if they are looking for little bit more experience performing without the commitment of the competitive team. Performing can but intimating but this is a low-pressure program with a strong community feel.
What is the difference between the standard recreational team and performance team?
The biggest difference for dancers a part of the performance team is that they perform multiple times a year outside the studio! Our performance team participates in many community events throughout the year and is given more opportunities to shine their light and show off their skills. Additionally, with the added performances comes a few extra hours a year for rehearsals! We expect every student that is a part of the performance team to attend rehearsal because after all, practice makes perfect!
Why did we create the performance team?
As a studio, we are constantly looking for ways to evolve and grow. We noticed many of our recreational dancers had a real passion for dance and performing but were not looking for the large commitment of the competitive team. We wanted to provide an opportunity for dancers to continue to explore their love of dance, challenge themselves, and create stronger bonds to the IMD Family and New West Community. This program is great step up from the traditional recreational program without too much extra time, tuition, and commitment.
